National Championships 2008 ∙ Washington DC
The 3rd United States Goodwill Tang Soo Do Association (USGTSDA) Championships was held June 27th and 28th, 2008 at Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, Maryland, U.S.A located just 30 miles south of Washington DC.
While people trained for tournament, and were excited when they won, and even disappointed when they did not....this is overshadowed and by far by the connections they are forming with the members of all our our schools.
Despite the competition and the individual school pride exhibited by all of the teams, there was a oneness and synergy felt by all ... much of it created through the smaller but more important acts of friendship, leadership, and concern shown by all the competitiors, the parents and the judges.
I want to personally thank all of you who helped not only in the planning stages, but for being attentive in each moment of the tournament, to know when to provide leadership, a helping hand and for giving of yourself to all of the students. There are many lessons to be learned and that takes good teaching. Ultimately people will come back because of all of this and not the medals.
I really appreciate all the time and effort you put in the day of the tournament.. thanks for jumping in and doing whatever needed to be done. You made my job much more enjoyable.
